Mission statement

The Global Economic and Legal Cooperation Council (GELCC) is a non-profit international organization dedicated to promoting global economic governance and cross-border legal coordination. The aim of this council is to achieve the following core objectives by building a dialogue platform, promoting rule integration, and strengthening capacity building: 1 Promote the legalization and standardization of global economic governance, promote the establishment of a fair, transparent, and stable international economic and legal environment, and support the improvement of the multilateral trading system and global financial order. two Strengthen cross-border legal coordination and cooperation to address legal conflicts and regulatory differences in areas such as cross-border trade, investment, digital economy, and sustainable development, and promote international rule integration and policy dialogue. three Providing global public goods through research, advocacy, and training to assist the international community in addressing common challenges such as climate change, tax evasion, financial risks, and intellectual property protection. four Empowering developing countries to build their legal capacity provides legal and technical assistance to emerging economies and countries undergoing economic transition, enhancing their institutional capacity to participate in global economic governance. five Advocate for inclusive and sustainable economic development, promote the inclusion of values such as human rights, environmental protection, and social justice into the international economic legal framework, and realize the humanistic care of economic globalization. 2、 In order to achieve the above objectives, the main business activities of this council are as follows: (1) Research and think tank function organization of global economic and legal trends, rule comparisons, and case studies, and publication of annual reports and policy recommendations. Establish an expert committee to conduct specialized research on topics such as international trade law, international investment law, financial regulation, and digital economy law. Build a global legal database and knowledge sharing platform, providing legislative dynamics, case analysis, and compliance tools. (2) Dialogue and platform construction will hold international economic and legal summit forums, specialized seminars, and closed door meetings, bringing together representatives from governments, international organizations, businesses, academia, and civil society. Establish a cross-border legal cooperation network to promote exchanges and mutual learning between judicial and arbitration institutions. Establish industry working groups (such as energy, technology, finance, pharmaceuticals, etc.) to promote coordination of industry-specific legal issues. (3) Standards and rules advocate participation in the international rule making process, providing professional advice on trade agreements, investment treaties, tax agreements, and other related matters. Promote the development of soft law, publish demonstration clauses, compliance guidelines, dispute resolution mechanism guidelines and other documents. Advocate for the internationalization and standardization of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as commercial arbitration and mediation. (4) Capacity building and training provide international economic law training courses for government officials, judges, lawyers, and corporate legal professionals in developing countries. Carry out the 'Rule of Law Assistance Project' to assist countries in improving their foreign-related economic legal and regulatory systems. Establish scholarship and visiting scholar programs to support young legal professionals in participating in global governance. (5) Consulting and services provide legal policy advice and compliance risk assessment to member countries, international organizations, and multinational corporations. Accept commission to conduct legislative evaluation, regulatory impact analysis, and dispute resolution mechanism design. Provide cross-border legal guidance and compliance toolkits for enterprises. (6) Public communication and advocacy aim to enhance public awareness of global economic and legal issues through publications, media collaborations, and digital platforms. Advocate for corporate social responsibility and international business ethics, and promote best practice cases. Regularly release the "Global Economic Legal Cooperation Index" to assess the legal environment and international cooperation level of various countries. Note: This council is an independent, non political organization that operates on the principles of neutrality, professionalism, and cooperation. All business operations comply with international law and the laws and regulations of each operating camp, with funding sources including membership fees, project grants, commissioned research, and charitable donations. The decision-making body of the Council is the General Assembly and the Council, and the daily executive body is the Secretariat, which includes various professional committees and regional offices.
